Job Overview

Trust Doctor in Medicine for Older People and Rehabilitation. Full‑time position with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (HIOWFT). Closing date 09 December 2025.

Location and Division

St. Mary’s Community Health Campus, Portsmouth. Part of the Portsmouth and South East Hampshire (PSEH) division, providing community care across the PSEH geography.

Main Duties

• Clinical cover for Spinnaker unit – a sixteen‑bed general rehabilitation ward at St Mary’s Hospital. Responsibilities include supervising the rehabilitation process, conducting Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments, managing acute medical problems, and advising on discharge and follow‑up arrangements.
• Clinical cover for Summerlee unit – a thirty‑bed general rehabilitation ward. Duties involve delivering rehabilitation services and discharge‑to‑assess care for patients from Queen Alexandra Hospital.
• Non‑clinical education and training – undergraduate teaching for year 3 and 5 medical students, postgraduate education with study leave for Continuing Professional Development, and multidisciplinary team training for community nurses and therapists.
