The Role

As a Transport Supervisor, you\'ll be at the heart of the operation ensuring that vehicles, drivers, and schedules all run smoothly. This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone with strong transport knowledge who thrives in a busy environment and can keep things moving when challenges arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and overseeing daily deliveries and collections
  • Supervising drivers, loaders, and the wider transport team
  • Briefing and debriefing drivers, ensuring accurate completion of paperwork
  • Monitoring fleet utilisation, compliance, and fuel efficiency
  • Ensuring full legal compliance (tacho rules, driver hours, vehicle checks)
  • Supporting operational planning and problem-solving on the go
  • Managing driver rotas, holiday, and sickness cover
  • Maintaining high safety standards in the yard and on the road
  • Building strong relationships with both customers and internal teams
  • Reporting on KPIs and highlighting opportunities for improvement
What Were Looking For
  • Proven experience in a transport/logistics supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of driver hours, WTD, and compliance regulations
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • IT literate (TMS experience desirable)
  • Proactive problem-solver with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Flexible approach to working hours to meet operational requirements
  • Class 1 licence (advantageous but not essential)
