An engineering consulting firm in Edinburgh is seeking a Transport Planner to join their team. In this role, you will work on a variety of transport projects, supporting local and national clients. Responsibilities include collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to project proposals, and ensuring high-quality output. We are looking to recruit a Transport Planner or Assistant Transport Planner to join our Transport & Mobility Planning team. The role can be based from either our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices, with hybrid working allowing for a mix of home and in‑office working.
As a Transport Planner within our Scottish offices, you will have the opportunity to support a wide range of transport projects across the WSP business. You will work across modes to support the development of transport programmes and projects from inception through to completion. This is a varied role with responsibilities including:
You will have an opportunity to work collaboratively with our Net Zero, Future Mobility and Freight growth areas on a range of innovative strategies for our public sector clients, as well as our extensive range of expertise practice groups, including Public Transport, Active Travel and Transport Communications.
We undertake a wide range of transport planning technical work for our clients, as well as having an extensive portfolio of multi‑disciplinary and cross‑sector services, including transport planning for major developments; active travel and public transport network planning; scheme development and appraisal; business case development and Government funding applications for all types of transport schemes.
Our clients include developers, Local Authorities and National Government Organisations. This provides our staff with the opportunity to work in a range of roles, across multiple disciplines, and realise their career aspirations, whatever they may be.
