Transport Planner – Development Planning

Location: Birmingham (Permanent)

Salary: £35,000‑£45,000

We're working with a growing consultancy, well-regarded for providing high-quality transport advice and technical support to planning and development schemes nationwide. Your Role

You'll play a key role in delivering transport planning services, including:

  • Preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans
  • Carrying out site access appraisals, junction capacity assessments, and parking reviews
  • Supporting transport chapters for Environmental Statements
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders
  • Assisting with project management and proposal preparation
  • Analyzing transport data using TRICS, Junctions (PICADY/ARCADY), and TEMPro
Who We're Looking For

Minimum 2 years' experience in UK transport/development planning

Strong understanding of the UK planning system and relevant transport guidance (e.g. NPPF, Manual for Streets)

Proficient in technical analysis tools and technical report writing

Degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or related field

Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to develop your career
