Container Transport Operator (CDL Personnel)

📍 Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk

💷 Salary: £35,000+ (Dependent on Experience)

🕒 Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:30 (Some out-of-hours work required)

CDL Personnel are recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing and well-established logistics provider, for an experienced Container Transport Operator to join their busy transport team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage UK-wide import container deliveries and export collections
  • Create and manage bookings using TOPS transport software
  • Liaise effectively with drivers, subcontractors, and customers
  • Handle email and telephone enquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain accurate operational records and ensure data is kept up to date
  • Support general transport operations and account management as required
Key Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in container transport operations
  • Strong knowledge of UK geography
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience with TOPS software (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise workload and perform under pressure
