Overview

Transport Coordinator / Transport Planner – Location: Wednesbury, UK. Salary: £35,000 per annum (DOE). Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm (flexibility & out-of-hours contact required for 24-hour operation). Contract: Permanent. We are seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator / Planner to join a busy and fast-paced logistics operation based in Wednesbury. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong planning and organisational skills to play a key role in ensuring smooth transport operations across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate daily routes, including UK-wide tramping work.
  • Maximise efficiency through effective link and back loading.
  • Brief and debrief drivers, ensuring all documentation is accurate.
  • Liaise with warehouse teams to manage trailer and equipment availability.
  • Maintain Health & Safety standards, including defect reporting and PPE.
  • Communicate with drivers, clients, senior management, and sister companies.
  • Investigate issues such as missing or damaged goods.
  • Complete PODs, worksheets, and scheduling for invoicing.
  • Monitor transport costs and support operational improvements.

  • Experienced in general haulage transport planning.
  • Knowledgeable in drivers' hours, working time regulations, and transport legislation.
  • IT literate with strong administration and reporting skills.
  • Flexible, professional, and customer-focused.
  • Honest, reliable, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Qualified with a CPC.
