Role: Transport Planner

Location: Birmingham

Salary: 29-43k (DOE)

Are you a motivated and ambitious Transport Planner with at least 2 years of experience in development-focused transport planning? Are you ready to take the next step in your career with a forward-thinking and dynamic organisation? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a growing team of professionals dedicated to delivering innovative transport solutions.

We are seeking a Transport Planner with a passion for transport planning and a desire to contribute to a wide range of development planning projects across the UK. This role offers the chance to work on diverse and impactful projects, with a strong focus on sustainable development and the transition to net zero.

This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work from home and the office being based in Birmingham.

As a Transport Planner, you will:
  • Gather, analyse, and interpret traffic data from various external sources.
  • Assess development sites for accessibility across multiple transport modes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of Technical Notes, Transport Statements/Assessments, Environmental Statement chapters, and Travel Plans.
  • Create technical figures and use GIS tools to support reports and assessments.
  • Conduct junction capacity assessments and site visits.
  • Assist in masterplan and junction design, as well as the design of highway improvement schemes.
  • Work collaboratively with an experienced team, receiving tailored support to aid your professional development.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • A degree in a relevant field such as Geography, Transport Planning, Town Planning, or Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in development-focused transport planning.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent presentation and technical writing abilities.
  • The ability to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • A genuine interest and enthusiasm for transport planning.
Your typical day will involve:
  • Collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality transport planning solutions.
  • Analysing data and preparing technical reports to support development projects.
