Role: Transport Manager
Location: Malton
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

The Role:

As Transport Manager, you will lead and develop a team of drivers with a strong focus on improving productivity, operational efficiency, and service discipline. You will use software tools and performance data to optimise routes, enhance delivery accuracy, reduce wasted time, and ensure drivers are working safely and compliantly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and schedule all deliveries using CODAS, optimising driver shift patterns, vehicle capabilities and route timings.
  • Review and streamline daily operational routines, including loading processes, driver check-ins, run sheets, and end-of-shift procedures.
  • Ensure full compliance with ADR, Driver Hours Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and all environmental requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce admin for drivers and accelerate depot turnaround times.
  • Use performance insights and technology to monitor driver behaviours, improve utilisation, and raise operational standards.
Key Skills
  • A strong background in an Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain environment (Ideally as a Transport Manager within the fuel / agriculture system)
  • Proficiency using CODAS or similar planning & scheduling systems.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and managing a team of drivers.
  • High competency in planning and scheduling multi-vehicle operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset
