The post holder will work as part of the Transformation Division reporting to the Head of Strategic Transformation. The post holder will support the Head of Strategic Transformation in co‑ordinating the organisation‑wide transformation programme. Responsible for leading and delivering complex programmes aligned to organisational priorities.
The role involves managing multiple complex projects within a transformation portfolio, ensuring delivery of benefits, quality improvements, and financial efficiencies. The post holder will work collaboratively across Integrated Care System (ICS) partners, clinical teams, and corporate services to implement sustainable change using recognised programme management methodologies.
Within the Transformation governance framework, the post holder will work with a high degree of autonomy, lead designated programmes, taking decisions on prioritisation, resource deployment and risk mitigation, and escalating material risks/variances to the Head of Strategic Transformation.
Communication and Relationships – Build strong relationships with the transformation division and key internal and strategic partners to deliver on transformation programmes, including relevant project leads, clinical experts, services, patients, carers, and service users.
Programme Assurance and Monitoring – Project manage delegated programmes, lead planning, delivery, and evaluation using PRINCE2/Agile principles, develop business cases, benefits realisation plans, risk mitigation strategies, maintain programme governance, manage budgets and financial risks, and influence senior stakeholders.
Team Working – Work with others towards shared goals, respecting and valuing contributions.
Analytical and Judgement – Demonstrate a flexible approach to developing and delivering new programmes, interrogate and analyse complex information, identify areas of required transformation, evaluate key indicators, and review efficiency opportunities.
Planning and Organisation – Support the directorate in project management to ensure value for money, support transformation strategy, lead delegated change programmes, and deliver multiple projects and programmes.
Leadership – Provide day‑to‑day line management of staff seconded under the Transformation team, recruitment and induction, and support a collaborative working environment.
Financial – Strive for value for money, plan, track and report programme budgets and financial risks, recommend corrective actions, and highlight potential risks or delays with financial impact.
