Location: Agile

Contract: Permanent. Contractually employed by NYP

Hours: Full Time

Salary: Scale 5, £30,333 - £32,613

Our Support Service functions work in collaboration across North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, providing vital shared expertise to deliver efficient and effective service to our communities.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Training Development Assessor to join our Professional Development Unit (PDU). This role is key to supporting learners on the Police Education Qualification Framework (PEQF) programme, ensuring they meet all necessary standards to achieve their qualifications and professional development goals.

You will deliver workshops and training programmes, observe learners in the workplace, assess progress, and maintain accurate records. The role involves working flexibly around learners’ operational locations and patterns to help them achieve competence within required timescales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train, support, and assess learners on the PEQF programme.
  • Build effective coaching relationships to promote achievement within agreed timescales.
  • Monitor workplace environments to ensure safe learning conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with Open University, College of Policing, and NYP policies.
  • Accurately complete learner documentation and assessment feedback.
  • Manage a portfolio of learners and maintain progress records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the Professional Development Unit (PDU).
  • Support diversity and positive action initiatives in line with NYP policies.
  • Comply with safeguarding and quality assurance procedures.
