The successful candidate will mentor Royal Navy engineers, support training delivery in pipefitting skills, and update training materials. A Level 3 Technical Certificate in Engineering and proficiency in IT are essential, while a Level 4 Teaching Qualification is desirable. This full-time role requires strong practical skills and experience in workshop principles.

Training Delivery Instructor - Pipe fitter Engineering

Carbon60 is looking to recruit a Training Delivery Instructor - Pipe fitter Engineering to work for a leading Educational and Training company based in Gosport.

ROLE: Training Delivery Instructor - Pipe fitter Engineering

PAY RATE: 40k Per Annam

JOB TYPE: Permanent

LOCATION: Gosport, PO12

HOURS: Full time, Monday to Friday - Pam to 5:30 PM (37.5 Hours/Week)

THE ROLE:

  • Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster by mentoring the next generation of Royal Navy engineers, leveraging your professional experience without the need for prior teaching experience.
  • Support the delivery of training across the Coppersmith/Pipefitter skills area within the Skill of Hand Training group.
  • Provide training on fitting pipework on ships from drawings (fit from design) and teach brazing techniques.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers and colleagues within the Marine Engineering Electrical training area.
  • Support trainee development through assessment, feedback, and personalised learning approaches.
  • Maintain and update training materials and contribute to modernising and improving training delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with KPIs, SLAs, and safety standards while maintaining a CPD portfolio.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

  • Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in an Engineering discipline
  • Proficient in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
  • Competent practical Copper smith/Pipe fitter hand skills
  • Proven experience in workshop/industry principles
  • Level 4 Teaching Qualification / DCTS Defence Train the Trainer Course or equivalent (desirable)
  • Previous instructional experience in a military or civilian engineering environment (desirable)
