Training & Resource Planner

12 month FTC Part Time

£29,093-£32,654 - Pro Rata

14.25 hours per week

The Role

This exciting opportunity is ideal for somebody who is committed and willing to go the extra mile to help support our organisations development, as well as their own professional and personal development.

The opportunity involves providing daily co-ordination of all operational resources across Greater Manchester, giving organisational and general support for colleagues and external customers around operational cover within GMFRS. This will include managing rosters and availability of operational staff in a highly effective and busy team and working alongside all levels of operational staff across the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate training course activities, including liaison with the Resourcing team, generating nominations through internal systems, delegate communication, booking Corporate Trainers, facilities, catering and vehicles, contacting suppliers, and recording training.
  • Liaise with senior officers to discuss and advise on upcoming and forecasted issues.
  • Ensure training and organisational rules are followed when planning training to maintain Operational cover.
  • Ensure the correct personnel are on the right courses; monitor training expiry dates, waiting lists and organisational dispositions; create nominations and issue up-to-date joining instructions; manage cancellation requests; update attendance records; and check evaluation returns and responses.
  • Provide a point of contact and proactively respond to training activity queries via telephone, email, MS Teams, and other methods.
  • Raise orders in the internal system, coordinate with suppliers to arrange deliveries, and ensure correct budget codes are used.
  • Create and maintain databases to record training information (e.g., Change / Cancellation database, Trainer Skills database, Corporate Trainer Roster, Training Schedule, retirement / future movements databases).
  • Represent the Service Delivery directorate in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with the Data Protection Act.
  • Manage the shared mailbox and handle telephone queries.
  • Working days Thursday / Friday 7.25 hrs
