Job description

Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a leading supplier of industrial batteries and related products. Operating within a number of industries, they are now looking to bring on a UPS engineer to work with clients across Scotland and the UK within their Reserve Power division. This is a great opportunity for an electrical installations engineer with a background in industrial installations looking to get into an industry with long-term opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Working alongside fully qualified UPS Engineers across Scotland
  • Installing AC and DC power systems from the clients supply to the UPS systems across Scotland and the UK when required
  • Commissioning of entire UPS system and completing certification reports
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and breakdown response of UPS systems
  • Testing battery systems for conductance, discharge and internal resistance
  • Managing your own Health & Safety, ensuring safety equipment is used when needed and reporting accidents/near accidents

Requirements

The company is looking for a candidate who has experience for electrical installations within an industrial setting. It is also an essential requirement for you to have done field-based work. In terms of qualifications, a level 3 SVQ/NVQ or HNC in electrical engineering would be preferrable but they would also be open to similar qualifications. Overtime, the business will train the successful candidate to become a fully qualified UPS Engineer. In terms of location, there will be a requirement for you to travel to the depot in Edinburgh regularly so you must be based within commutable distance.
