A children's care service provider in Coventry is looking for a Trainee Registered Manager. This role offers a structured development pathway into management, allowing you to work alongside an experienced Registered Manager. Key responsibilities include supporting service operations and staff management while ensuring compliance with care standards. Ideal candidates will have a background in health or social care, strong values in dignity and respect, and a commitment to improving service outcomes. Training and mentoring will be provided to facilitate your growth into a management position.
Trainee Registered Manager role, designed as a supported development pathway into a future Registered Manager position within our service for a Children's Home. The purpose of this role is to work under the guidance of an experienced Registered Manager while gradually taking on responsibility for the overall leadership and management of a care service. This includes supporting safe, person‑centred care, ensuring regulatory and safeguarding requirements are met, and helping to maintain high standards of quality and compliance across the service.
The person specification describes someone with experience in health or social care, strong values around dignity, respect, rights and inclusion, and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for people who use services. It also highlights the need for good communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, emerging leadership skills, and the willingness to learn about relevant legislation, guidance and regulatory frameworks such as those set by the Care Quality Commission (or equivalent).
This trainee role is particularly suitable for someone who is ready to move towards a Registered Manager position in a Children's Home, but would benefit from a structured development route rather than stepping straight into full registration. The role offers planned training, mentoring, reflective supervision and exposure to all aspects of service management so that, over time, the post‑holder can develop the confidence and competence needed to apply for a Registered Manager role.
