Trainee Service Engineer - Filtration Equipment

Location: Tolleshunt D'Arcy, Essex (covering Chelmsford, Braintree, Colchester areas)

We are supporting a growing provider of filtration solutions to recruit a Trainee Service Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanically inclined individual to advance their career in the filtration industry. The role is based in Tolleshunt D'Arcy, Essex, and will involve servicing clients across Chelmsford, Braintree, and Colchester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform servicing, maintenance, overhauls, commissioning, and training on filtration equipment.
  • Write detailed service reports with recommendations for clients.
  • Build strong customer relationships and identify upselling opportunities.
  • Prepare and manage quotations, purchase orders, and stock levels.
  • Use the company ERP system to manage parts and orders.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to marketing campaigns and create relevant service content.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and write risk assessments and method statements.
  • Manage job bookings, including administration and travel arrangements.
  • Participate in training events, including annual sessions at the company's headquarters.
  • Travel across the UK, Ireland, and internationally, including overnight stays.
Candidate Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in engineering.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience or qualifications in mechanical engineering or field service work.
Job Details
  • Full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week, plus overtime).
  • Basic salary of £25,440 per annum, with realistic earnings exceeding £32,000 during the 12-month induction period.
  • Earnings above £50,000 per annum after full training and client base development.
  • 24 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and a discretionary Christmas shutdown.
  • Additional holiday accrued for overtime worked.
