A leading patent and trademark firm in London is seeking a Trainee Patent Attorney to join their vibrant team. Candidates must hold a 2.1 or first-class degree in Physics, Electronics, or related fields. This role offers comprehensive training and support to qualify as a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney. We are seeking a recent graduate with a 2.1 or first class degree result, or post‑graduate with at least a good first degree, in physics, electronics, electrical engineering, or related discipline to train to become a patent attorney. In addition to a strong academic background, you will need good interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and excellent attention to detail. A competitive salary is offered, and a start date preferably in August/September 2026 is anticipated.
As a trainee patent attorney you will be given full training and support in order to become qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney. This comprises mentoring and supervision by the partners, who dedicate a lot of time to their trainees, in‑house tutorials, external lectures and attending the Bournemouth University, Queen Mary Certificate Course in Intellectual Property Law, or equivalent course.
