It involves the promotion of clinical excellence in practice through the implementation of research evidence‑based care and NICE guidelines.
Being responsible for the day‑to‑day function of their own caseload, the Endoscopist will assess, implement and direct endoscopy cases, liaise with all members of the MDT, patients and their families, and lead endoscopy sessions.
Work autonomously as a Clinical Endoscopist once qualified to deliver a differential diagnostic GI endoscopy service, including delivering life‑changing diagnoses, initiating treatment, and breaking bad news. The option to develop therapeutic GI endoscopy may be discussed.
