Job summary

A global supplier in drug discovery and analytical testing is seeking a motivated Trainee Accountant to join their finance team in Ystrad Mynach. This in-office role offers exposure to all areas of finance with hands-on experience in reporting, reconciliations, VAT returns, and budgeting. Applicants should be AAT qualified or studying and possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting systems and Excel. Competitive salary up to £27,500 is offered.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in accounts or finance roles is essential.
  • AAT Qualified (or currently studying) or equivalent finance qualification.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate revenue data.
  • Conduct profit & loss analysis and compile monthly financial reports.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and load trade agreement documents into system.
  • Perform foreign exchange revaluations and intercompany netting.
  • Prepare VAT returns and monitor daily bank statements for reconciliation.
  • Support Management Accounting with inventory reserve calculations.
  • Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely invoicing.
  • Assist with internal and external audits providing necessary documentation.
  • Contribute to budget planning and forecasting processes.
  • Handle ad‑hoc finance tasks and provide cross‑functional support as needed.

This is an in office role 5 days per week.
