Overview

Trade Marketing Manager – Somerset. We are partnering with a highly respected, industry-leading organisation on the lookout for a Trade Marketing Manager to join their offices in Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and make an impact within a dynamic, forward-thinking company.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the marketing strategy and execution for key accounts across multi-site merchants and independent retailers, supporting the sales team to drive profitable growth via range execution and promotional activity.
  • Lead in targeting and supporting new clients with a tailored marketing approach covering account pitch, range setup, marketing requirements and ongoing tactical activity.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Development, Marketing Communications and Customer Service.
  • Management of marketing plan across multi-site merchants and retail stores in line with brand and account strategy.
  • Management of Trade Marketing budget for all key accounts to drive sales growth, demonstrating ROI.
  • Initiate collaborations with partnerships, sponsorships, and third parties to develop marketing and promotional activities that increase awareness and sales by channel.
  • Develop and manage annual marketing plans with top 10 clients, scheduling activity and initiatives to support sales.
  • Ensure the brand is represented correctly with all distributors via engaging displays, point-of-sale materials and promotional material.
  • Work closely with Retail sales teams to ensure appropriate Trade Marketing support for new account openings and new client development.
  • Execute events in support of the marketing department to meet sales team requirements via stand content, displays, support materials and customer follow-up activity.
  • Oversee briefing of promotional materials and promo events such as Advent calendar, January Sales, etc.
  • Internal post-event reporting, with highlights and key takeaways.
  • Support incentive schemes and hosting preview events and insight meetings.
Key Skills & Requirements
  • Strong promotional/marketing management experience, ideally within retail, interiors, or premium consumer goods.
  • Commercially minded and organised, with confidence managing agencies and stakeholders.
  • Creative and proactive, with the ability to balance planning with reactive activity.
  • Flexible to travel regularly to showrooms, with the role based two days a week in the office initially (with scope for one day working from home).
  • Significant experience (3-5 years minimum) in a Trade Marketing Management role.
  • Business/Marketing degree qualified.
  • High degree of commercial aptitude; ability to analyse and review data and substantiate projects.
  • Proven track record of evaluating and developing strategic market opportunities.
  • Excellent influencing skills with the ability to present at all levels and manage external stakeholders.
  • A positive and motivated individual, with a high level of organisation and project management skills.
  • Used to working in a fast-paced environment; flexibility to adapt is essential.
  • Professional communication skills both written and verbal; numerate and literate; with exceptional levels of accuracy and a high attention to detail.
  • Proficient IT and Reporting skills.
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
