Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly engaged and professional team. Trade Effluent (TE) is the discharge of non-domestic wastewater from trade premises. It is essential to control TE to protect the public, our people, our assets and the environment.

Role and responsibilities
  • Process applications, raise charges and consent fees using the Wholesale billing system and provide front-line customer service through telephone contacts and correspondence.
  • Case management, support and completion of case assessments (new and reassessments).
  • Handle customer and account queries and build relationships with retailers and customers to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Provide general support to the trade effluent team members during working hours and incidents.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Wholesale Market Services, Asset Planning and Operational Process Scientists.
  • Prepare legal documentation and monthly internal reports.
Location and working pattern

Base location is Crossness Sewage Treatment Works, SE2 9AQ. The expectation is to be on site 5 days a week. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 36 hours a week (9 am to 5 pm).

What you should bring to the role

Essential criteria:

  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Ability to work to timescales and targets.
  • IT literate and fully adept in using MS Office programs.
  • High level of attention to detail, a logical and analytical mind.
  • Ability to evaluate, interpret and effectively communicate written data and information from diverse sources.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles and providing excellent customer service.
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and negotiating skills for liaising with external parties and across different levels of stakeholders both within and outside of the business.

Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring:

  • Water Industry Experience
  • Knowledge of Thames Water systems, e.g. TERMIS, Salesforce, SAP supply chain, is desirable.
  • Financial experience in revenue generation
  • Regulatory Experience
  • Ideally, have a valid UK driver’s licence and access to a car for travel to work because the site is in a remote location.
