A leading manufacturer is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to maintain and repair injection moulding tools in Sutton Coldfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactive maintenance, preparing tools for production, and liaising with Setters on tool issues. Ideal applicants will have significant experience in a similar role and must be proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and using machine tools. This position offers a salary between £36,000 and £38,000 with a double day shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be a time served Tool Maker or have significant experience in a similar role.
• Experience with maintaining and repairing Injection moulding tools is essential.
• Must be capable in interpreting engineering drawings and using various machine tools.

Responsibilities

Due to substantial growth, a leading manufacturer of plastic parts and components to renowned OEMs is currently seeking an experienced Plastic Injection Moulding Toolmaker / Tool Technician to join an established team.

With the acquisition of new orders, the influx of tools coming into the business has significantly increased. Your focus will be the maintenance and repair of these injection mould tools, getting them production ready.

Salary: £36,000 - £38,000, Double day shift, with an early finish on Friday.

Responsibilities

• Bench fitting.
• Manual machining using miller, lathes and surface grinders.
• Carrying out proactive maintenance on moulding tools that come from production and logging them in the system.
• Preparing moulding tools in a good condition ready for production.
• Liaising with Setters over issues with mould tools.
• Maintaining spares and equipment to avoid lengthy repair times.
• Investigating issues to find root causes, passing information back to the design department and management so issues can be avoided in future.

Qualifications

• Will be a time served Tool Maker, or have a significant amount of experience in a similar role.
• Will have maintained and repaired Injection moulding tools.
• Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions.
• Must be capable in the use of hand, machine and automated computer controlled machine tools and measuring equipment.
