Job description
Overview

Large well established manufacturer in Telford seeking Tool Maker to join their team to support production in maintaining tools, JIGs and Dies. Predominantly manual machining, working on a range of tool sizes with some large equipment on site this role will suit tool makers who like problem solving and working with others.

Excellent salary and benefits available working a favourable shift with no weekends or nights.

Shift and Location

Shift: double days / 37.5 hours per week
Location: Telford

What You Will Do
  • Maintain and prepare existing tooling to ensure optimal performance and production readiness.
  • Identify and resolve tooling issues effectively, implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on production tooling, adhering to strict schedules and standards.
  • Fabricate, fit, and assemble parts using a variety of equipment such as milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders.
  • Verify and test tools for proper operation, ensuring they meet exact specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to gather feedback and continuously improve tooling processes.
What You Will Bring
  • Level 3 qualified in mechanical or relevant area
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Hands-on experience with tool room equipment, including overhead cranes and inspection tools
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
  • A proven track record in a manufacturing environment, demonstrating your ability to deliver results

You will have current or recent experience as tool repair technician, tooling engineer, manual machinist or jig, tool and die maintainer.
