Overview

SLC has an exciting fixed-term opportunity for someone to join our Test Centre of Excellence as a Test Engineer until 31st May 2026. As a Test Engineer, you will support test delivery of our projects and changes. You will bring excellent skills to drive test quality across delivery, utilising defined standards and best practice. You will have a deep understanding of software testing, its main principles, and processes: different testing levels, types, test estimation and reporting. The successful candidate will be proactive, a confident team player who can work in a dynamic agile environment with good communication skills to interact with business and technical colleagues. You will actively contribute to continuous improvement and promote QA across the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide end-to-end testing support across projects, ensuring alignment with defined standards and best practices.
  • Apply knowledge of the full software testing lifecycle within Agile environments to guide testing strategy and execution.
  • Drive process and practice improvements to enhance team efficiency and software delivery quality.
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Contribute to test estimation, reporting, and the selection of appropriate test levels and types, from unit testing through to UAT.
  • Develop a strong technical understanding of system architecture, including application servers, databases, web services, cloud infrastructure, and Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Utilise tools such as Swagger and Postman for service-oriented architecture and API testing.
  • Utilise and contribute to toolsets like Confluence, JIRA, Zephyr, and ALM.
