Rate of pay starts from £12.45 an hour; this increases to £13.66 for stores inside the M25. For all hours worked between midnight and 6am you will receive an additional night premium of £2.35 per hour. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

It is our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

The availability windows shown illustrate the periods in the week we would like you to be available to work. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you'll have 3 weeks' notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We support flexibility, so if your available times match closely but not exactly to the advertised times, we would still love to hear from you.

You will be responsible for

  • Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; giving great service

  • Working across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas where required
  • Applying training to work safely, effectively and to serve customers brilliantly
  • Making decisions that are right for customers and delivering store routines
  • Participating in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere
  • Being knowledgeable about store performance and contributing to service, sales, waste reduction and profit
  • Handling products with care to maintain quality
  • Representing Tesco values and following policies
  • Occasionally assisting with deliveries into the store
