Overview

WE ARE URGENTLY LOOKING FOR A TEMPORARY COOK FOR A SMALL NURSERY (WITH POSSIBILITY TO BE A PERMANENT POSITION).

APPLICANTS MUST HAVE SOME COOKING EXPERIENCE. FOOD HYGIENE TRAINING IS NEEDED, WE CAN PROVIDE THE NECESSARY TRAINING.

Responsibilities
  • To be responsible for the day to day running and upkeep of the kitchen
  • Ensuring all written notifications and monitoring guidance are completed daily
  • Ensuring all areas of the kitchen are kept clean and free from contaminants
  • Reporting any issues to the management immediately
  • To prepare the daily meals as set out by the weekly menus
  • To ensure that all aspects of the Health and Safety regulations are met and adhered to
  • To ensure that the food and provisions are ordered weekly as per the menus, in consultation with the Manager
  • To monitor stock rotation and ensure the provisions are stored and used appropriately
  • To ensure that the kitchen environment is at all times clean and tidy, following cleaning guidelines completely, including cleaning around and under large appliances
  • To monitor and record all fridge/freezer temperatures, daily food temperatures, and to ensure that all health and safety requirements are adhered to
  • To meet with the Inspector and carry out annual Food Hygiene Inspection checks and to ensure all recommendations are met and carried out
  • To support the nursery in providing a healthy menu and meet the differing dietary requirements of every child, ensuring that their environment meets in full the current registration requirements
  • To provide for the effective health care of the children of the nursery by ensuring the highest standards of care whilst preparing the meals
  • To ensure that you comply with Health and Safety, Fire Regulations and Food Safety requirements
  • To ensure you promote and nurture the reputation for good practice held by the nursery
  • To sit with and assist the children at lunch times providing a nurturing and exciting environment
  • To ensure you promote and maintain the highest standards of care
  • To help clear away after lunchtime (wipe down tables and sweep food off floor)
  • To wash up and load dishwasher after mealtimes
Working hours

15 HOURS PER WEEK MONDAY TO FRIDAY (10:30AM-1:30PM). THIS IS AN ALL YEAR ROUND POSITION.
