Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for a long-standing client in the property lettings industry on National scale, who are seeking a focused and proactive Credit Controller to join their team to support in a busy period, for an exceptional performer, there may be the opportunity to join the team permanently, a permanent position would pay in the region of £28,000 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage and reduce rent arrears—agreeing repayment plans, issuing notices, and completing firm but fair follow-ups
  • Run a busy shared inbox, triaging queries and responding to tenants and landlords quickly and clearly
  • Prepare and execute accurate monthly payment runs to landlords and contractors, with full approvals and audit trails
  • Handle day-to-day bank management and reconciliations—allocating receipts, matching payments, and resolving exceptions fast
  • Initiate and progress legal action where required, liaising with solicitors and submitting online possession/MCOL claims on behalf of landlords
  • Provide reliable accounts and administrative support to the Client Accounts Manager and Financial Director, including reports and up-to-date records
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in credit control or arrears management
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills; able to prioritise a busy workload
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (especially Excel) and quick to learn new finance/CRM systems
  • Confident communicator by phone and email; handles difficult conversations with empathy and firmness
  • High attention to detail and numeracy; accurate record-keeping and reconciliations
  • Genuine long-term career motivation in accounts/credit control; reliable team player
