The Financial Controller role plays a pivotal role in this expanding business based near Newport.

Client Details

Our client is a growing business based near Newport who are going through a period of change and have big growth plans for 2026 and beyond.

Description

Reporting to the Financial Director, the Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in the day to day running of the Finance department.

The FC will join initially on a temp contract for 6 months with the potential of Temp to Perm if it works out on both sides.

This can also just be a temp role whilst a perm FC is recruited.

The role will be responsible for;

  • Revenue control (Revenue accrued or deferred).
  • Manage outstanding po from customers (requires some attendance at customer meetings supporting the Customer Relationship Manager)
  • Manage AR including Credit Controller
  • Invoicing control (ensure invoices are raised correctly on time)
  • VAT reporting
  • Payroll responsibility (payroll processing is outsourced)
  • Manage 3 AP clerks
  • Be a key player in cross functional teams
  • Manage and oversee all financial operations, including reporting and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor cash flow and implement strategies for financial efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors as required.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance department
Profile

A successful Financial Controller should have:

  • Qualifications in accounting (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Proven experience in financial management.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and software.

Job Offer
  • Competitive salary c £60,000 - £65000.
