A well-established rolling stock company in City Of London seeks a qualified Electrical/Electronic Technician for a 6-month rolling contract. Candidates will be responsible for servicing and maintaining locomotives and associated equipment, working under varied shift patterns. Overview

Rullion is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified Electrical/Electronic Technician to join a well-established rolling stock company based in Golders Green, London. In this role, you will be a key member of the maintenance team, responsible for the upkeep and servicing of a locomotive fleet.

Contract & Compensation

Contract Type: 6‑Month Rolling Contract
Location: Golders Green, London
Shift Pattern: 5 on, 3 off or 4 on, 4 off rotations over a 3‑week schedule, with 2 weeks on nights and 1 week on days.
Average of 42 hours per week.
Days: 07:00 to 17:30
Nights: 19:00 to 05:30 & 20:30 to 07:00
Hourly Rate (Umbrella): £42.93 / £45.23
Hourly Rate (PAYE): £33.52
Entry level Technician – rate subject to increase upon assessment in the future.
This role is subject to IR35 regulations; we do not engage with Limited Companies.

Responsibilities
  • Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on overhaul fleet locomotives, coaching stock and associated equipment.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are conducted safely, efficiently and cost‑effectively.
  • Actively participate in initiatives to enhance the quality of work and processes.
  • Collaborate effectively as a member of a work team, fulfilling the role’s responsibilities within the team structure.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the work area.
  • Be flexible and willing to take on additional duties within the scope of modification work as needed.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of electronic and electrical engineering related to various types of rolling stock.
  • Mechanical experience is an advantage, as there may be times when you are required to assist in other maintenance duties.
  • Technical proficiency in electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competency in IT skills, including the use of personal computers, office software and diagnostic equipment.
  • Electrical Engineering: Must possess relevant experience in an electrical engineering environment.
  • Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
  • Team Collaboration: Able to work effectively as a member of a multi‑disciplined team.
  • Problem Solver: Demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills.
