Technical Operator - Food Manufacturing (Weekend Shift)

Pay Rate: £14.85 - £15.95 per hour

Shift Pattern: Friday to Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Responsibilities
  • Take the lead in managing product launches by supporting the site in delivering new and existing product development and operational improvements. Project manage each launch to ensure the company meets its product delivery targets assigned by the customer.
  • Actively participate in the NPD process, utilising technical expertise to deliver expected technical standards while working closely with internal departments.
  • Complete all customer product specifications and ensure generated artwork complies with legal, food safety, and quality requirements.
  • Assist in managing the supplier quality assurance program and specification control.
  • Ensure raw material compliance is regularly reviewed and approval status is maintained; ensure information required during third-party audits is accurate and readily available.
  • Utilise customer portals, trade associations, and external resources to ensure company compliance and capture emerging risks or new codes of practice in a timely manner.
  • Act as an active member of the site HACCP team and internal audit team.
  • Explore new ways of working and technologies to continuously improve systems/processes and produce strong trend data.
  • Complete any technical or quality-related projects as required.
  • Deputise for the team as needed.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a food industry role.
  • Experience using and managing customer technical portals, customer specifications, and artwork approval processes.
  • Experience interpreting and implementing retailer codes of practice.
  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within an engineering department and knowledge of fixing and maintaining machinery.
