This is a unique opportunity for a Technical Operations Manager to join the Consulting Technical team. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of technical projects, driving operational effectiveness, and enabling the Technical Partner to focus on strategic priorities. The role is hands‑on, with no line management responsibility, but requires someone who is proactive, highly organised, and able to take ownership of tasks from inception to completion. Internal applicants may be considered for this role on a secondment basis.
You’ll make an impact by :
- Providing direct support to the Technical Partner, acting as a trusted adviser and sounding board on a range of technical and operational matters
- Drafting, reviewing, and coordinating technical documents, reports, and presentations, ensuring high standards and timely delivery
- Taking responsibility for the first draft of key documents, policies, and communications, synthesising input from multiple stakeholders
- Project managing technical initiatives, tracking progress, identifying risks, and ensuring actions are completed
- Liaising with technical specialists, client‑facing teams, and business partners to gather information, share knowledge, and drive best practice
- Supporting the Technical Partner in preparing for meetings, collating agendas, briefing materials, and following up on actions
- Maintaining a log of lessons learned and best practices, sharing insights across the technical team
- Embracing digital tools and approaches to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in all tasks
- Undertaking research, data analysis, and benchmarking to inform technical strategy and decision‑making
- Providing ad hoc support on special projects and technical initiatives as required
What we are looking for :
- A background in professional services (accounting, audit, consulting or legal)
- Prior experience with managing internal projects in a professional services environment is highly desirable
- Prior experience in a technical or QA role is desirable including a high level understanding of legal frameworks and the UK regulatory environment
- Proactive, self‑starter with a “can‑do” attitude; able to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise documents for a range of audiences
- Strong organisational and project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- An individual comfortable working with ambiguity and able to synthesise information from diverse sources
- Collaborative, diplomatic, and able to build relationships across technical and business teams
- IT proficient, especially in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); willingness to embrace new digital tools
- Experience in a technical, compliance, or consulting environment is desirable
