An excellent opportunity awaits an experienced developer with strong Python and AWS skills to join a leading energy solutions firm. This role offers ownership, a clear progression path and the ability to shape the growth of the business.

We are a leading PaaS solutions developer for the energy sector on a brilliant growth trajectory, led by a leadership team with extensive experience in the UK Energy and Tech sectors.

Role

• Lead the engineering function of a small to medium sized software team
• Own technical direction, standards, tooling and delivery quality
• Coach and develop junior and mid-level engineers
• Oversee back‑end‑led work within an agile sprint cycle
• Support future hiring as the role progresses into Head of Software/Development
• Based in Oxford office, 2-3 days per week.

Person

• Strong SDLC experience with Python back‑end and JavaScript front‑end (ideally React or TypeScript)
• Confident with multi‑tiered architecture via APIs and serverless AWS (Lambda, S3, SQS, API Gateway)
• Solid technical leadership or line management background
• Able to guide standards, process and engineering best practice
• Energy sector experience desirable but not essential
• Based within commutable distance to Oxford office
