Role Overview

Ready to join esure Group's mission to revolutionise insurance? This 12‑month fixed‑term contract role is part of our digital transformation efforts. You will manage, lead and coach a dedicated squad of technical experts who build software and customer experiences that drive our customer‑centric, data‑driven, digital‑first strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a squad from the front, combining hands‑on development and people management.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, QA, Architects and wider business to maintain a healthy backlog and Agile practices.
  • Set and enforce high technical standards across the team, continuously improving engineering practices, code quality, testing and CI/CD.
  • Serve as a senior member of esure's engineering community.
Qualifications
  • Java technical expert with strong Spring Boot experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, and ideally Kubernetes.
  • Cloud platform experience, preferably AWS.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies: Scrum, Kanban, TDD, BDD, continuous delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead an engineering squad in an agile environment.
Interview Process

1️⃣ 1‑hour interview with two of our Technical Leads. 2️⃣ 30‑minute meeting with members of an Agile Squad (Product Owner and Delivery Manager).
