Technical Engineering Expert Witness - Offshore Pipelines

We are looking for a technical engineering expert with strong offshore pipeline experience who can provide an independent opinion on design, constructability, installation methodology, and causation of technical issues.

  • 20+ years of experience in offshore gas pipelines, subsea infrastructure, and FSRU tie-in systems.
  • Hands-on experience with EPC design and offshore installation, including route selection, pipeline laying methods, risers, shore approach/landfall works, tie-ins, and pre-commissioning.
  • Background with major offshore contractors or owners (e.g., exposure to similar large-scale subsea pipeline projects).
  • Previous expert witness experience in arbitration or litigation is highly desirable; otherwise, strong dispute/claims analysis experience with clear potential to act as an expert.
  • Ability to assess and explain:
  • Offshore pipeline design and constructability;
  • Installation methodology and marine spread constraints;
  • Pre-commissioning roles within EPC/JV frameworks;
  • Technical causation and allocation of responsibility.

Engagement scope:

  • The expert would prepare at least one independent technical report, attend meetings with counsel, participate in expert conferencing, and give evidence at a hearing.
  • Likely duration: 12-18 months.
