About the Company

I’m working with a respected commercial fit‑out contractor delivering CAT A, CAT B and refurbishment projects for a wide range of clients across workplace, retail, leisure and mixed‑use sectors. The business is known for its technical excellence, practical design approach and close collaboration between design, commercial and delivery teams.

About the Role

As Technical Designer, you will focus on producing accurate, detailed and technically compliant drawing packages to support commercial fit‑out and refurbishment projects. Working closely with the design, estimating and project delivery teams, you’ll ensure that all design outputs meet client requirements, align with specifications and reflect real‑world buildability.

Key responsibilities
  • Producing detailed technical drawings, construction packs and joinery details for CAT A/B fit‑out schemes.
  • Translating concept and GA designs into coordinated technical documentation.
  • Creating and managing Revit and AutoCAD models/drawings in line with project BIM or CAD standards.
  • Working with project managers, estimators and subcontractors to review specifications, resolve queries and address buildability challenges.
  • Coordinating with MEP consultants, structural teams and specialist suppliers to ensure technical alignment across disciplines.
  • Preparing schedules, elevations, sections and detailed component/assembly drawings.
  • Ensuring all technical outputs comply with building regulations, industry standards and internal QA processes.
  • Supporting site teams during delivery, providing technical clarification and design updates where required.
Requirements
  • Experience in a technical design or detailing role within commercial interiors, fit‑out, joinery or architectural sectors.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for technical drawing production.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, joinery detailing, materials and fit‑out sequencing.
  • Ability to interpret and develop concept designs into accurate technical packages.
  • Confidence working with consultants, suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical queries.
  • Knowledge of building regulations, compliance requirements and industry standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and problem‑solving ability.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple drawing packages to tight deadlines.
  • A relevant design or technical qualification is desirable.
