Overview

Vickerstock are delighted to be partnering with our client, a leading name in the agri-food sector, as they seek to appoint a Technical Assistant for their Dungannon site.

This is an exciting opportunity for recent food graduates to take their first step into the food manufacturing industry. As Technical Assistant, you will work closely with the Technical Manager and wider team, supporting key quality and compliance processes while gaining invaluable hands-on experience across food safety, supplier management, and regulatory standards.

What your day to day will look like:
  • Support the supplier approval process for ingredients, packaging, and services, ensuring documentation, specifications, and compliance records are accurate and up to date.
  • Review supplier documentation (HACCP, BRC, ISO, allergen controls, COAs) and help maintain the Approved Supplier List in an audit-ready state.
  • Assist with risk assessments, technical questionnaires, and customer documentation requests.
  • Work alongside procurement, supply chain, and NPD teams during supplier onboarding and new product development projects.
  • Contribute to investigations into supplier non-conformances and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Provide assistance during site audits and customer visits.
What you\'ll need to succeed:
  • A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of food safety principles, HACCP, VACCP/TACCP.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and an interest in developing technical systems knowledge.
