Are you an experienced Social Work leader with a passion for safeguarding and strategic decision-making? We’re looking for a Team Manager to lead a highly motivated and professional MASH team, supporting frontline decision-making that protects vulnerable children and families across Greater Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment, where your leadership directly contributes to early intervention and positive outcomes.

You’ll lead a team of experienced social workers, offering support, supervision, and oversight to ensure timely and appropriate responses to safeguarding concerns. You\'ll collaborate with partner agencies, manage risk, and maintain oversight of decision-making in line with legislation, policy, and best practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clear leadership and day-to-day management of the MASH team
  • Make timely, evidence-based decisions on safeguarding referrals
  • Chair strategy discussions and ensure thresholds for intervention are applied consistently
  • Lead on multi-agency collaboration, fostering strong relationships with partners including health, education, and police
  • Provide reflective supervision and coaching to team members
  • Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities, local procedures, and quality standards
Who we’re looking for:
  • Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
  • 4+ years’ post-qualifying experience, ideally with MASH, safeguarding, or frontline assessment teams
  • Strong understanding of thresholds, child protection legislation, and effective multi-agency working
  • Proven leadership or management experience
  • Confident decision-maker with excellent communication and risk assessment skills
  • Passionate about improving outcomes for children and families
