Working Pattern

Full Time Monday – Friday. Hours are typically 07:30 am – 03:30 pm, with flexibility required due to project nature.

About the Role

Enerveo is one of the largest contracting businesses in the UK, offering mechanical, electrical, high voltage, EV infrastructure installation, testing, inspection and street lighting services. We manage over 1 million street lights across the UK and Ireland, delivering energy efficiency and greener cities.

What you will be doing

Take charge of on-site operations for the LED lantern replacement programme across Southampton and Hampshire. Supervise field teams, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to high quality standards while keeping projects on track and supporting a positive on-site culture.

This 1‑year programme is part of our long-standing PFI contracts with local authorities, ensuring the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the regions street lighting network.

The LED lantern replacement scheme will upgrade thousands of traditional street lights to energy‑efficient LED technology, reducing energy use, lower maintenance costs and providing brighter, more reliable lighting for road users and pedestrians, creating safer, more sustainable streets.

Typical day
  • Promote and maintain high safety standards on site.
  • Support the Senior Project Manager in planning daily activities.
  • Brief teams, monitor progress and ensure quality delivery.
  • Provide regular updates to Project Managers and stakeholders.
  • Oversee smooth day‑to‑day site operations.
  • Spot and address potential issues before they escalat​e.
  • Help track and maintain accurate cost records.
What you need to be successful
  • Proven experience leading or supervising an operational or field‑based team, keeping people motivated and projects on track.
  • Confident using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
  • A calm, proactive approach under pressure, able to make quick and effective decisions.
  • A full UK driving licence as you will be visiting multiple sites.
  • Experience in the highways electrical sector is a bonus or a good understanding of working safely and efficiently in live highway environments.
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of the 18th Edition 302.1 installing, maintaining and removing traffic management on rural and urban roads.
