Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in children's residential care (preferred).

  • Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).

Job Title: Team Leader - Childcare

Location: Markfield, LE67

Salary: £31,092 - £35,802.14 per year

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Shift Pattern: 1 day on / 2 days off; Includes evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins

Sleep-in Rate: £65 per night

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Home Manager in day-to-day operations
  • Supervise and guide staff to deliver high-quality care
  • Build strong relationships with young people and external professionals
  • Lead key work sessions and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure safeguarding standards are upheld
  • Assist with daily tasks: cooking, cleaning, appointments, etc.
  • Participate in rota planning and cover shifts as needed
Shift Patterns & Pay
  • Typical rota: 1 day on, 2 days off
  • You'll work 10-11 shifts per month, depending on the calendar
  • Includes approximately 6 sleep-in shifts monthly
  • Monthly hours: 155 hours + 6 sleep-ins + 2 cover shifts
  • Total monthly earnings: £35,802.14 annually
  • Sleep-in rate: £65 per night
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year experience in children's residential care (preferred)
  • Level 3, 4, or 5 Diploma/NVQ in Residential Childcare or Health & Social Care
  • Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply—initial funding available)
  • Ability to work at least 3 shifts per week including sleep-ins
  • Understanding of safeguarding and relevant legislation
