A local government entity is seeking a leader to manage public transport and sustainable travel initiatives. This role requires collaboration with local bus operators and various stakeholders to develop an enhanced transport network, making Bedford a healthier and more sustainable area. Ideal candidates should have experience in transport initiatives and strong leadership skills.
An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Public and Sustainable Travel team at Bedford Borough Council. Working with our partners in developing and promoting a more sustainable transport network, across all modes of travel. This role offers the opportunity to manage a talented team in promoting and deliver public transport and sustainable travel initiatives across all model shifts.
You will work in partnership with Local Bus operators, cycling and walking groups and representatives from the Department for Transport and Active Travel England to enhance the travel network, making Bedford a healthier, cleaner, more sustainable place to live, work and visit.
It is an exciting time to join the Borough, with many large-scale projects and development on the horizon in which Transport, sustainable and active travel will play a vital role.
Manage and lead a team in promoting and delivering public transport and sustainable travel initiatives across all model shifts.
You will work in partnership with Local Bus operators, cycling and walking groups and representatives from the Department for Transport and Active Travel England to enhance the travel network.
The role supports efforts to make Bedford a healthier, cleaner, more sustainable place to live, work and visit, within a period of significant projects and development.
