A local government authority in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Team Leader for their highways maintenance team. This role involves managing the operational aspects of the highway network and supervising a team of highway inspectors. You would be responsible for the operational management of the highway network delivered through the supervision of the Councils strategic highway services contracts for highway related infrastructure and the management of a team of highway inspectors and their workload. This includes supervision of the Councils Capital programme of structural schemes.
The Wirral has an approximate population of 350000 people with a highway network of 1100km of road. The area is diverse with old urban areas rural environments and a long coastline all of which brings unique challengers for maintaining the highway .
Wirral Council is looking for an experienced and highly motivated team leader for its highways maintenance team working within the Highways and Infrastructure section.
We would like to hear from you if you have experience of the legislation regulations court procedures standards specifications materials and operational practices relating to the inspection and maintenance of highways and associated infrastructure and in the defence of claims against the Council arising from alleged defects in the maintenance of highway infrastructure.
You will be a good communicator both orally and written have experience of highways and able to support and motivate a team of inspectors whilst having the following :
