Overview

Salary: NJC 4 - 6 £26,041 - £26,876 (FTE); Actual Salary Range £12,003 - £12,388.

Location: Glendinning Academy, Newton Abbot, TQ12 4HD.

Position: Permanent, Part‑Time Teaching Assistant (Lunchtime Supervisor).

Hours: 20 hrs per week, Monday - Friday, 10 am - 2 pm.

Expected Start Date: ASAP.

About The Academy

Glendinning Academy is a special school with 120 places for children aged 7‑16 who have social interaction and communication needs, including those on the Autism Spectrum. The academy provides a personalised supportive environment with opportunities for outdoor learning and partnership with pupils, parents and carers.

Responsibilities (outlines of duties)

The successful candidate will:

  • Supervise and support pupils during lunchtime, ensuring safety and suitable behaviour management.
  • Assist teachers in classroom and classroom‑related activities, particularly with pupils who have additional needs.
  • Provide assistance with social, emotional and mental health needs, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Work as part of a cohesive team to promote the trust and academy values.
