Job description

The Governors of Bickershaw Church of England Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support the teaching and learning of a pupil in KS1 with Communication and Interaction (CI) needs. This role will involve working 1:1 and in small groups, under the direction of the class teacher.

Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to a pupil with CI needs, both individually and in small groups.
  • Implement interventions to support social, emotional and behavioural development.
  • Feedback to the class teacher on pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, while also using your own initiative.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with children who have difficulties in Communication and interaction.
  • Experience working with children who have difficulties in Social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Experience working with children who have difficulties in Concentration and motivation.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills, including positive reinforcement and feedback.
  • Good English and Maths skills.
  • Emotional resilience and a non-judgemental approach to supporting students with complex needs.
  • Ability to be flexible, proactive, and caring in response to the child s and teacher s needs.

Salary and Employment Details
  • Salary: Grade 3, 18,212 - 18,790 per annum. 12.85 - 13.26 per hour
  • 32.5 hours per week, term time working 38 weeks per year
