Job summary

A local primary school in the United Kingdom is seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant Level 2 to support children's learning in a friendly team environment. Job description
Overview

Teaching Assistant Level 2 – 30 hours per week, term time only. The Governors of St Lawrence CE Primary School are seeking to appoint a qualified, experienced TA2 with SEND experience who is willing to work as part of a team.

Contract Length: The post will commence as soon as possible for two terms until 31 August 2026 with possibility for an additional fixed term until 31 August 2027

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only (39 weeks)

Salary: NJC F7-10 Hourly rate - £13.26 - £14.13

Qualifications Required

  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 or comparable qualification
  • GCSEs grade C/4 or above or equivalent is desirable in Maths and English

Duties & Tasks

  • Support learning as a Teaching Assistant with named individuals/small groups
  • Work on targets stated on the EHCP
  • Provide support to individuals and groups during their sessions to enable them to access their learning whilst monitoring progress and dealing with challenges as they arise
  • Contribute to the implementation of effective personal and social skills development within clear boundaries and reinforcing positive aspects of behaviour
  • Develop positive relationships with parents, carers and families by taking a partnership approach, maintaining and sharing accurate information where appropriate

  • Experience working with children with additional needs would be an advantage
