The successful Teaching Assistant will be expected to:
Targeted Interventions: Plan and deliver structured literacy and numeracy booster sessions to small groups across Key Stage 1 and 2.
Classroom Assistance: Assist the Class Teacher with lesson preparation, resource organisation, and the maintenance of stimulating classroom displays.
Behaviour Management: Proactively support the implementation of the school's behaviour policy, encouraging positive attitudes and independence amongst pupils.
Pupil Welfare: Provide emotional and physical support to individual pupils, including those with specific learning needs (SEN).
Reporting: Observe and report on pupil progress, feeding back essential observations to the Class Teacher promptly.
The school expects applicants to meet the following criteria:
Qualification: An NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent qualification) is highly desirable.
Experience: Proven experience working with children aged 5‑11 in a UK primary school setting.
Core Skills: Excellent English and Maths skills, suitable for supporting academic instruction.
Personal Qualities: Resilience, exceptional organisation skills, and a genuine passion for aiding pupil development.
Compliance: Must be willing to apply for or possess a current Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
