As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing dedicated support to a specific student with special educational needs or those who require extra guidance. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals, you will be instrumental in creating and implementing a personalised learning plan tailored to the student’s unique needs.

  • Position: Teaching Assistant
  • Location: South Ockendon
  • Salary Scale: £85-£115
  • Contract Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
  1. Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to understand the specific needs of the student.
  2. Implement and adapt educational plans to support the student’s individual learning requirements.
  3. Provide one-on-one assistance to the student during classroom activities and lessons.
  4. Foster positive relationships with the student, promoting their well-being and engagement.
  5. Assist in the implementation of behaviour management strategies tailored to the student’s needs.
  6. Collaborate with parents and other professionals to ensure a holistic support system.
  7. Support the overall positive and inclusive atmosphere of the school.
Qualifications and Skills
  1. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially in providing 1:1 support to students with SEN, is advantageous but not essential.
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting individual student success.
  4. Initiative and a willingness to collaborate with the teaching team.
