Overview

Teaching Assistant - Full-time role in Cranleigh Pre-Prep (Years 1 and 2) with Early Years classes planned for 2026. We are seeking to appoint a compassionate and inspirational Full-time Teaching Assistant, as soon as possible, to join our thriving inaugural Pre-Prep team. Cranleigh Pre-Prep opened to children in Years 1 and 2 in September, 2025 and Early Years classes will follow in 2026. It is an exciting chapter in the recent history of the School.

We will also consider applicants who are interested in temporary or cover Teaching Assistant roles for our vibrant Pre-Prep and Prep School.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the class teacher to support children both within the classroom and alongside specialist teachers in the foundation year of our new Pre-Prep.
  • Assist with classroom activities, prepare resources, support individual and small group learning, and ensure a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for young children.
  • Line management by the Head of Lower School.
  • Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment; adapt to varying teaching needs as part of a dynamic early-years setting.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience with phonics schemes (such as Read, Write, Inc) is welcomed; experience in an outdoor setting (e.g., Forest School) is advantageous.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, be adaptable and flexible in approach, as well as take initiative; a sense of humour is beneficial.
