A support organization for young people is seeking a Skills Coach to provide mentoring and coaching for individuals with learning disabilities and autism in Northampton. This full-time role involves a mix of in-center and job coaching, helping students develop practical skills and confidence in their placements over the course of a one-year maternity cover. Strong communication and empathy are vital for this role.
Want a role where you’re not stuck in the classroom every day?As a Skills Coach, you’ll support young people with learning disabilities or autism on a Supported Internship programme. It’s a mix of classroom and workplace support – typically 2–3 days in the centre, and 2–3 days out job coaching. The project itself is based just a 5-minute walk from the Derngate Theatre in Northampton, so it’s right in the heart of the town.You’ll help learners settle into placements, build their confidence, and make sure they’ve got the practical skills to succeed – including travel training (sometimes with earlier starts or later finishes, but not all the time).
