Overview

Seeking an LSA/TA/Care Assistant/Support Worker in Harlow!

Protocol Education are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Harlow that supports students with SEMH needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) traits.

You will be joining a dedicated and understanding team that work closely with children who may display challenging behaviours, struggle with emotional regulation, or require additional support to access their learning. A calm, patient and resilient attitude is essential – but no prior school experience is necessary!

You’ll be someone who can build trust and rapport with students, model positive behaviours, and be a consistent, supportive presence in the classroom.

Responsibilities
  • Work with children who may display challenging behaviours and require support to access learning.

  • Help create a calm and positive learning environment.

  • Model positive behaviours and support emotional regulation in class.

Desirable experience and qualifications
  • De-escalation techniques (Team Teach, MAPA, etc.).

  • Mental health awareness.

  • Trauma-informed approaches.

  • Youth work or mentoring.

Schedule and terms

This school requires staff on a long-term, full-time basis (5 days a week between the hours of 8:30am – 3:30pm).
