Job summary

Your Role in Building Brighter Futures

As a Teaching Assistant at Westover Green Community School and Autism Centre, you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. Purpose of the role of a Teaching Assistant

The teaching assistant will :

  • Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of children
  • Promote child independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
  • Give support to children, individually, in groups or as a class (under the direction of the teacher), so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
What You’ll Bring to Futura

We are looking for a motivated and inspirational teaching assistant who will :

  • Have a good standard of education (5 x GCSE’s – English and Maths C or above) or equivalent qualification / experience (e.g. substantial experience as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Have an understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
  • Be able to plan and implement effective actions for pupils at risk of underachieving
  • Be able to support a range of children in the classroom, including those with additional needs and personal care requirements
  • Be a natural communicator with the ability to relate to both pupils and adults.
  • Demonstrate a passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.
  • Aligns with our trust-wide values by bringing a positive, collaborative approach to their work and a willingness to continuously develop professionally.

Working Arrangements

31.25 hours per week, term time only no inset days required. Fixed Term Contract till 16 / 11 / 26 or return of post holder if sooner.
