Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic person to play an active role within our successful English Department to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will be a passionate subject specialist with experience delivering the English curriculum across Key Stage 3 and preparing students for GCSE success in Key Stage 4. Experience in delivering A-Level English Literature is also essential. The post holder will also contribute to our co‑curricular and extracurricular programmes.

About Rochester Independent College

Founded in 1984, RIC offers a fresh alternative to traditional independent education. We have no uniform and maintain a first-name environment. 425 students from the age of 11 and boarders from 13. Classes are small – an average of eight students per group. The college provides full secondary education (Year 7 to Year 13), intensive one-year A-level and GCSE courses, and has a good track record of excellent results, especially for students aiming at competitive university courses such as Medicine, Law, Veterinary Science and Dentistry.

Responsibilities

Deliver the English curriculum for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including preparation for GCSE examinations. Teach A-Level English Literature. Contribute to co‑curricular and extracurricular programmes.
